Booster Meetings at Parker in 2007

Will be held on the 2nd Thursday of every month in the band room, which is more or less, at the far Southern end of the school, behind that cafeteria stage thing (the Ubertorium).

My intention is always to get there early and block open that door we use for tailgates, so feel free to park in the teacher's lot, it's MUCH closer to the band room than the main door.

If you don't know where the tailgate door is, simply park in the West lot, which is the lot nearest the flag pole and right in front of the school.  This lot is easiest to get into from the drive immediately after the new stop light.  But you CAN get there from either.  Once through the front doors, make an immediate right turn and head South until very nearly the end of the hall.  I will put up some signs at every meeting to help guide you!

Please call me if you get lost, and I will talk you to the band room, or come get you!  My phone number is (517) 672-2761. Sprint service is touchy inside Parker, so if I don't answer, call until I do!

Booster Meeting
This Thursday!!

November 8th, 7:00pm
Parker Band Room.

We need people to bring more and better snacks for this meeting.  More and better than the lame junk I bring, that is.  I'm a tight wad, so what I bring will be stinky and cheap.  Show us your specialty horsedeouvers Orederv... hordeoovre... oh, you know what I mean.  Show us your killer, no-hands-down, unbeatable cookies or bundt, bunt, boont, bundit...  Oh my gosh, why are these words all so hard to spell?.  Show us your secret weapon punch (hey, no spiking it).  Let's have fun with this.  Maybe I will even bring something decent myself!  Well talk a bit, nosh, get to know each other.  It'll be like a party.

This is an important meeting.  Among other things we will be talking about,

• New York Trip (a rep from the trip company will be there!!!)
• Fantasy of lights
• WTA Meet
• Can drive
• Little Creaser's Pizza Kits
• Trip Raffle

And, as always, in his ongoing effort to keep us all reasonably well informed about current music, Mr. Smigell will be giving a brief piano and singing recital featuring the music of my son's favorite band, "The Drop Kick Murphys!"

• Dinner at B.B. King's jazz restaurant.
• Open rehearsal with NY Philharmonic Orchestra.
• Big time, first run, original cast, Broadway Musical.
• Dinner Cruise of NY Harbor.
• Band clinic with NY Philharmonic Orchestra.
• Visit to the NY Metropolitan Museum of art.

The preliminary cost of this trip will be around $700.00, which isn't cheap.  It would be a good idea for parents and students to start getting involved in fundraisers now in order to beef up the totals in those student accounts.
